75th Anniversary of Germany's Basic Law: Celebrations Planned
Commemorations to Commence in May 2024
Germany will celebrate the 75th anniversary of its Basic Law, the country's constitution, next year. The centerpiece of the festivities will be a state ceremony in Berlin on May 23, 2024, the exact date the Basic Law was proclaimed in 1949.
Series of Events to Mark Milestone
The celebrations will include a variety of events throughout the year, including a "Democracy Festival" in Berlin on May 24, 2024. The Bundestag, Germany's parliament, will also participate in the commemorations.
